[10-21-2023] San Diego County, CA – Pedestrian Hospitalized Following Vehicle Crash on Northbound Interstate 5

An unidentified pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in San Diego on Saturday night, October 21, 2023.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 8:29 p.m. on the northbound Interstate 5, just south of State Route 94 off-ramp.

Reports indicate that the victim was struck by another vehicle after stepping out of a sedan with hazard lights on while stopped on the freeway’s third lane near the state route.

The medics attempted CPR before transporting the victim to Scripps Mercy Hospital with unknown injuries.

Neither the name of the victim nor any additional details about the incident could be immediately provided.
