[10-26-2022] Riverside County, CA – Police Chase in Indio Resulted in Multi-Vehicle Crash

A suspect has been taken into custody after a pursuit that lasted nearly 40 minutes and damaged several enforcement vehicles in Indio on Wednesday morning, October 26, 2022.

The accident began at around 11:55 a.m. at the 83000 block of Calle Presidente.

The Indio police were summoned to address a domestic family dispute.

According to Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department, a violation of an emergency restraining order has occurred. Just before the police arrived, the guy sped off in a red Honda Civic.

The officers observed the suspect’s car at about 12:18 near Jackson Street and Genoa Gate.

The officers attempted a traffic stop, but the culprit eluded them and struck several police cars in Indio, according to Guitron.

The pursuit came to a halt at 12:57 p.m. on Jackson and 66th Avenue in Thermal after continuing into south Indio and Coachella.

Guitron reported that no further incidents occurred during the arrest of the suspect.
