[10-28-2022] A 66-Year-Old Died After a Pedestrian Crash Involving a Street Racing on Scenic DriveA 66-year-old man identified as David V. died after a street racing caused a pedestrian collision on Modesto’s Scenic Drive on Friday night, October 28, 2022.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. between Coffee Road and Bodem Street.

According to the local authorities, the motorcycle driver and the driver of a BMW were racing when they collided.

The motorcyclist swerved to the right as he approached slower-moving traffic to avoid crashing with the car in front of him. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was thrown out when the vehicle struck the curb. After that, he hit the pedestrian along with the motorcycle.

According to Modesto police, a passerby attempted to save the man’s life, but he passed away at the scene.

According to the press release, the motorcyclist suffered severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The male adult driver of the BMW stayed on the scene. Police in Modesto refused to give their names.

According to the press release, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in this collision.
