[10-28-2023] Inyo County, CA – 24-Year-Old Motorcyclist Injured After Collision With Camper Van on Highway 190 in Death Valley

A 24-year-old Canadian motorcyclist was injured after colliding with a camper van on Highway 190 in Death Valley, Inyo County, on Saturday afternoon, October 28, 2023.

The National Park Service responded to the incident along the highway east of Towne Pass. The time of the incident and when authorities responded to the crash were not specified.

Initial reports indicated that the driver of the rented camper van, a tourist from Switzerland, swerved out of the way after noticing a tarantula crossing the road, which led to the motorcycle hitting the rear of the camper van.

The 24-year-old was rushed to Desert View Hospital in Pahrump, but the extent of his injuries and current condition are unknown. It is unknown if the occupants of the camper van sustained any form of injury after the incident.

The authorities are conducting further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
