A delivery truck driver was seriously injured after a suspected DUI collision in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, on Saturday morning, October 28, 2023.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of the incident around 5:00 a.m. near Cesar Chavez Avenue and Mott Street.
Officials reported that the victim was loading his truck from the back when a DUI driver struck him and amputated his leg in the process.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
The driver was taken into custody after the collision, and further investigations into the incident are underway.
