[10-31-2023] San Diego County, CA – 73-Year-Old Man Hospitalized Following Pedestrian vs. Vehicle Crash in Shelltown

A 73-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle in Shelltown, San Diego, on Tuesday night, October 31, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:43 p.m. at the 1600 block of South 43rd Street, intersecting with Gamma Street.

The pedestrian was struck by a 74-year-old woman driving northbound in a 1998 Toyota Camry when he crossed 43rd Street. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with a fractured pelvis, multiple facial fractures, and a brain bleed.

The driver reportedly did not sustain any visible injuries, and neither the identity nor the current condition of the victim were disclosed.
