Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Motorcycles are involved in 11% of all traffic accidents in the US, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In 2018, there were 82,000 motorcycle injuries and 4,985 motorcycle fatalities.

This statistic is not shocking because riders are 16 times more likely than passengers in enclosed vehicles to sustain severe or fatal injuries in a car accident.

The majority of motorcycle accidents-nearly two-thirds of all collisions—occur at intersections. Due to their smaller size, motorcycle collisions happen more frequently than those involving other vehicles.

The top 100 motorcycle roads, according to motorcycleroads.com, include most of the state’s highways. One of the states with the most registered motorcycles in California. There are about 800,000 motorcycles in the state.

It has been demonstrated that wearing a helmet reduces the risk of severe head injury. According to estimates, wearing a helmet reduces the likelihood of passing away while operating a motorcycle by 37%. However, the rest of their bodies could still be in danger.

Speeding, careless driving, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, driving in inclement weather, driving the wrong way, and breaking traffic laws are all factors in motorcycle accidents.
