[11-13-2022] Head-On Collision Killed Two and Injured Two More in Moreno ValleyThe California Highway Patrol reported that two were killed and two more were injured in a head-on collision involving a DUI driver in Moreno Valley on Sunday evening, November 13, 2022.

According to the CHP, the crash occurred at 8:57 p.m. on Gilman Springs Road and Bridge Street. The Riverside County Fire Department stated the crash was west of San Jacinto.

According to the initial investigation, Scott B., 47 of Moreno Valley, was traveling west on a Chevrolet Silverado when he crossed the highway into the eastbound traffic. He collided head-on with a Honda Insight.

The Honda driver, 45-year-old Daniel J., who worked as a correctional deputy for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, together with his daughter, 19-year-old Hannah J., were declared dead on the spot.

The Silverado driver and his 45-year-old male front-seat passenger suffered severe injuries and were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The CHP press statement revealed that Bales was driving under the influence of alcohol during the collision. He was detained on suspicion of two counts of homicide, DUI, and endangering the welfare of a passenger.

The CHP was looking into the crash.
