[11-13-2022] Santa Clara County, CA - One Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 17The California Highway Patrol reported that one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Santa Clara on Sunday evening, November 13, 2022.

According to the CHP, the crash occurred at 9:57 p.m. on the southbound lanes of Highway 17 near Bear Creek Road.

The officials said the collision involved four to five vehicles. It remained unclear what exactly happened during the crash.

One person passed away on the spot, and one was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. No identifying information about them has been released.

The highway’s southbound lanes were initially shut down overnight while personnel looked into it. The closure was lifted afterward.

Further investigation is being conducted.
