[11-18-2022] Woman and Child Hospitalized After Collision in AdelantoA two-vehicle collision severely injured one woman and a child in Adelanto early Friday morning, November 18, 2022.

The collision reportedly occurred around 6:15 a.m. at the corner of Stevens Street and Kemper Avenue.

According to authorities, a white Nissan Pathfinder SUV and a semi were involved in the crash.

On arrival at the scene, responders found that the SUV had sustained significant damage, with the female driver trapped inside.

The jaws of life were used to free the 32-year-old woman from the crumpled SUV. The extraction took 20 minutes.

A total of three patients were treated, two of whom were in critical condition, and a third had only minor wounds.

The child was immediately airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Meanwhile, the female driver was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

Investigations are ongoing to determine what caused the crash.
