[11-19-2022] Fresno County, CA – 19-Year-Old Woman Severely Injured After Colliding with Big Rig on Highway 180

A big-rig collision severely injured a 19-year-old woman on Highway 180 Saturday morning, November 19, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 5:00 a.m. east of Clovis Avenue.

Reports stated that the 19-year-old victim was driving a 2018 Hyundai Elantra west in the far right lane, and a 62-year-old was driving a 2008 Peterbilt big rig on the same road.

According to authorities, the Hyundai was traveling at an unsafe speed, and the woman could not stop or slow down before hitting the truck’s back end.

The victim was thrown from the car after it overturned. Officers claimed she wasn’t using a seatbelt.

Responders immediately transported the victim to the Community Regional Medical Center after sustaining severe wounds.

Meanwhile, the truck’s driver did not sustain any wounds.

The collision is not believed to have been caused by drugs or alcohol.

Currently, investigations are in progress.
