[11-28-2022] Crash Between Motorcycle and Car in Los Banos Kills OneA motorcyclist was fatally struck in a collision with a car south of Los Banos Monday afternoon, November 28, 2022.

The California Highway Patrol reported the fatal crash transpired around 4:04 p.m. near Highway 165, south of Mervel Avenue.

According to authorities, a 79-year-old man from Santa Maria was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on Highway 165 at an unknown speed.

The 30-year-old driver of a 2017 Nissan Altima, Eliseo M., was traveling northbound at around 60 mph on Highway 165.

When the motorcycle rider approached the Nissan from behind, he stopped due to a dog on the road.

As a result, the Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with the Nissan’s rear end.

The rider fell off the motorcycle and sustained severe injuries.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and airlifted the victim to Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto, where he was pronounced dead.

Further details on the cause of the fatal crash are ongoing.
