[12-03-2025] San Mateo County, CA – 15-Year-Old Bicyclist Hit By DUI Driver at Cottage Grove Ave. and South Norfolk St.

A 15-year-old bicyclist was injured after being struck and dragged by a suspected DUI driver in 15-year-old bicyclist was injured on December 3, 2025.

According to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office, 24-year-old Brayan G. was intoxicated when he veered into the bike lane at Cottage Grove Avenue and South Norfolk Street, striking the teen who was riding an electric bicycle.

The boy and his bicycle were dragged for two blocks before he fell off. The suspect continued driving for several more blocks with the bicycle still being dragged before hitting two parked vehicles.

San Mateo Police officers later found the driver hiding under a parked vehicle with methamphetamine in his possession. He was also found with 14 empty beer cans in his crashed car. The extent of the boy’s injuries has not been disclosed.
