One person was killed and another was hospitalized in a single-vehicle collision in Reedley on Sunday morning, December 04, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred around 9:38 a.m. on Manning Avenue close to Kings River Road.
Responders arrived at the scene to discover the driver, 20-year-old Aaron A. from Madera, who died on the spot from his wounds. They also found one passenger who sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital.
A witness account revealed that the car was traveling westbound on Manning Ave. at high speed. The vehicle reportedly lost control on the curve after passing Kings River, smashed into a power pole, and came tumbling down an embankment.
According to CHP, the road was also quite wet at the time of the collision, which made driving more difficult, especially at high speeds.
