[12-07-2022] 5-Year-Old Child Struck While in Crosswalk Near Ashlan AvenueA 5-year-old pedestrian was severely injured after a vehicle crash in Central Fresno on Wednesday night, December 7, 2022.

The collision reportedly transpired around 7:30 p.m. at the Ashlan and West avenues intersection.

Reports state a woman pushed her child in the stroller while another walked beside her in a crosswalk facing a red light.

As a result of the impact, the 5-year-old child was thrown into the intersection.

Responders arrived at the scene and took the victim to the hospital with critical injuries. The child’s current condition is unknown.

The vehicle driver cooperated with investigations, and alcohol or drugs are not thought to have played a role in the crash.
