Two women were injured, with one being hospitalized, following a two-vehicle collision in Bakersfield on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:22 p.m. at the South Union Avenue and Watts Road intersection.
The collision involved a white Ford SUV and a blue Honda. One car was severely damaged on its front end, while the other was damaged on the driver’s side, trapping its driver.
Responders from the Bakersfield Fire Department had to extricate the trapped victim, the 24-year-old Honda driver, and take her to a local hospital for sustaining major injuries.
The 28-year-old Ford driver suffered minor injuries and stayed at the scene to cooperate with the CHP officers.
It was not immediately clear what caused the collision.
