[12-14-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – Car Crash by Drunk Driving Mother Injures Child in Santa Clarita

A child was injured in a solo car crash due to drunk driving by the mother near Santa Clarita on Wednesday morning, December 14, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on State Route 126 near Commerce Center Drive.

The 28-year-old woman from Canyon Country was discovered to have her child unfastened in her car at the time of the collision. It is unclear how the crash happened.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said that while the child was injured, no one was taken to the hospital despite the American Medical Response responding to the scene.

The severity of the child’s injuries was not known as of the moment while the investigation continued.

The female driver was detained at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and held on a $100,000 bail.
