A fatal wrong-way collision near Ocean Beach resulted in one death and injured at least one person on Monday night, December 20, 2021.
The fatal crash took place on the westbound side of Interstate 8 near Sunset Cliff’s Boulevard off-ramp.
An eastbound vehicle was traveling on the westbound lanes for unclear reasons. The car then inevitably collided with another vehicle.
Due to the severity of the impact, debris from both vehicles was scattered on the road. Two people inside the involved cars were reported to be “not responding.”
One person was killed in the crash, while another sustained unspecified injuries. The identities of the involved parties have not been disclosed.
