[12-25-2023] San Diego County, CA – At Least One Person Hospitalized Following MTS Bus vs. Multi-Vehicle Collision in Sherman Heights

At least one person was hospitalized after an MTS bus vs. multi-vehicle collision in Sherman Heights, San Diego, on Monday afternoon, December 25, 2023.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the collision happened at 5:18 p.m. at 21st Street and Market Street.

Several parked cars were hit by an MTS bus that jumped a curb. The bus started rolling away as the driver tried to lower the mobility aid ramp, believing that the bus was parked. It crashed into a tree on its way down.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with a possible open fracture to the right shin. Currently, it is unknown what caused the crash and how many vehicles were involved.

The authorities are still conducting an investigation into the fatal collision.
