[10-05-2022] Passenger Seriously injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision in ButtonwillowThe people who were hurt when a semi-truck crashed into another semi-truck head-on and then hit another car Wednesday morning in Buttonwillow have been named by the police.

Authorities say that Lovepreet D., who is 32 years old and lives in Bakersfield, was driving an eastbound 2022 Freightliner on Highway 46, east of Gun Club Road. Anthony C., who is 33 years old and lives in Wasco, was driving a 2010 Freightliner west on Highway 46.

According to the authorities, neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident.

The investigation is still going on at this time.

According to the California Highway Patrol, there have been reports of major injuries to a passenger following a head-on collision between a semi-truck and another in Buttonwillow Wednesday morning, October 5, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision transpired at 5:47 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Highway 46 and Gun Club Road.

Two tractor-trailer trucks were involved in the collision. The officers looked underneath one of the trailers and discovered a third vehicle wedged in.

According to the officials, one passenger was taken by helicopter to a nearby medical facility. The number of people injured was not immediately made public after it occurred.

Highway 46’s westbound lanes have been closed for approximately a quarter mile west of Gun Club Road. It appears that emergency services have arrived.

The investigators are still trying to determine what caused the collision.
