According to the Fresno Police Department, a pedestrian woman was injured after being struck by an Amtrak train in Fresno Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Per police report, the collision transpired Thursday evening near Shaw and Marks Avenues in Northwest Fresno.
A member of the Fresno Police Department arrived on the scene of an accident involving a person being struck by a train.
The investigation led the detectives to discover that the woman had been sitting on the tracks at the time of the collision with the train.
According to the police, she was transported to a hospital, where it is anticipated that she will recover fully.
According to the train’s engineer, the victim’s injuries could have been much more severe if the train had traveled at a higher speed.
Brick walls surround the railroad tracks in the area, and the investigators are currently working to determine how she gained access to the channels.
