Six persons sustained injuries after a truck collided with the Chase Bank in River Park on Wednesday, August 17, 2022.
The accident occurred around 10:30 am at the intersection of Blackstone and Nees.
According to Fresno police, a woman in her 70s drove a Chevy Silverado while her husband sat in the back. She parked in a spot designated for those with disabilities.
However, authorities stated that she mistakenly accelerated rather than put the car in “park,” smashing through the front of the bank.
Three people were taken to the hospital, including a woman struck by the truck.
Fresno Police are reminding motorists to exercise caution as this accident appears to be an unfortunate event.
According to the authorities, the bank will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday.
The accident is to be further investigated.

Big rig and other commercial truck drivers are skilled and patient drivers. However, in addition to the dangers inherent in the size and weight of commercial transportation and shipping trucks, several factors can contribute to traffic accidents. These are some examples:
Inadequate driving technique, safety concerns, and defensive driving training;
Systems of compensation that encourage faster vehicle speeds and long periods of continuous vehicle operation than is normally recommended; and
Trucking companies’ unrealistic schedules and expectations encourage drivers to rush, despite the safety risks.
