According to the California Highway Patrol, a wrong-way collision on state Route 67 in Lakeside hospitalized four people on Sunday, August 07, 2022.
According to the CHP, at around 11:30 p.m., a Toyota SUV was traveling in the wrong direction on SR-67 near Mapleview Street when it collided with a car.
The impact flipped the car onto its side, trapping three people inside. The Jaws of Life were used by responding firefighters to cut the roof off and extricate the three people.
The three passengers in the car and the SUV’s suspected wrong-way driver were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
CHP officers are investigating the crash.
There were no other vehicles involved, and no other injuries were reported.
