Motorcycle Accident Statistics

Motorcycle accidents frequently occur in the United States. Over 88,000 motorcycle riders are injured in accidents every year. Motorcycles make up only 3% of registered vehicles but are responsible for 14% of all road fatalities. This is probably because motorcycles provide so little safety equipment.

One of the many factors contributing to this uptick is that motorcycles are less visible on the road than other vehicles. Motorcycles can travel at high speeds and are more likely to be involved in collisions with other vehicles.

In contrast to other forms of transportation, motorcycles provide their riders with a unique experience of independence and thrill. As a result, motorcyclists face a greater danger of being hurt or killed in an accident.

Motorcyclists must be alert to and prepared for the risks they face while out on the road. Never ride under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and always wear a helmet and other safety gear. Keep an eye on your surroundings and clear any potentially hazardous areas.
