Two people suffered severe injuries after a multi-vehicle collision in Yucca Valley on Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 62 and Warren Vista.
The person involved was Mariano C., a resident of Lakeway, Texas. He ran through the red light and collided with two other vehicles, injuring two people.
Sherriffs claim Conti may be under the influence of drugs and was to blame for a three-car accident.
One of the other drivers was unconscious with a laceration on her head and had lost a lot of blood. They took her to Desert Regional Medical Center.
The unidentified male driver sustained neck and shoulder injuries.
Conti was detained on the spot on suspicion of felony drug driving and causing great bodily harm.
At the West Valley Detention Center, Conti was taken into custody and is now being held on $100,000 bail.
