Pedestrian Accident Statistics

Pedestrians are the most at risk of suffering fatal injuries in a car accident because they cannot protect themselves from such harm.

Pedestrian fatalities in the United States have recently increased to critical concern. Between 2007 and 2016, other traffic-related fatalities fell by 14%, but pedestrian deaths increased by 27%.

When it came to drunk drivers hurting pedestrians, there was no room for doubt. Driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs is a serious crime. Accidents involving drunk drivers are not as frequent as they could be in the US.

According to the NHTSA, there are about 30 fatalities caused by drunk driving accidents daily in the United States. In the US, drunk drivers are responsible for about 29% of all traffic-related fatalities. The blood alcohol content (BAC) of 60% of the tested drivers was higher than the 0.08% legal limit.

San Bernardino County Pedestrian Accident Lawyers

Under the state’s legal system, those who have been wronged—including by a driver—can seek monetary, psychological, and physical restitution. The injured party may ask for economic and non-economic damages in a personal injury lawsuit.

A loss of money is meant when we talk about “economic damage.” These damages also cover things like lost wages and medical costs. Non-economic losses, such as mental suffering and the loss of a loved one, may be covered by compensation for victims.

If someone else’s carelessness or recklessness was the reason for the injury, the injured party might be entitled to compensation. You won’t be charged for our time if we cannot settle your dispute amicably or successfully in court.
