The mishap transpired around 3:40 p.m. at North Broadway and Fesler Street intersection. They received a report about a bicyclist that had been hit by a vehicle.

Officer Andy Brice added that the driver stayed at the scene and assisted the authorities.

A CalStar medical helicopter transported the injured adolescent, who wasn’t wearing a helmet, to Cottage Hospital for treatment of serious wounds.

Brice added that the Traffic Bureau of the Police Department was looking into the accident’s circumstances.
