[10-07-2022] One Pedestrian Seriously Injured in DUI Crash on 47th AvenueAn unidentified woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries following a collision with a vehicle in South Sacramento on Friday, October 7, 2022.

The crash occurred just before 1:00 p.m. near Franklin Boulevard and 52nd Street.

According to Sacramento police, an officer was allegedly pursuing someone driving recklessly in the area.

Shasha A., 29, was detained by California Highway Patrol officers on suspicion of driving under the influence.

A short while after losing sight of the car while pursuing it, the officer discovered it on 47th Avenue, where it had collided with a pedestrian and another vehicle.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, all three occupants of the struck vehicle were taken in for minor injuries, while the female pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The officials are still investigating the crash.
