Allan T., 73, of Sebastopol, has been identified as the man fatally struck by a car on Sunday, October 9, 2022, while attempting to cross the Old Redwood Highway in Penngrove.

On Monday, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office identified Thorpe.

According to Officer David deRutte of the California Highway Patrol, he and Beth T., 66, were struck by a Hyundai Veloster driving north on the highway. The authorities did not disclose the relationship between the two.

The Sebastopol woman was taken by ambulance with severe injuries to Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa.

According to hospital spokesperson Christian Hill on Tuesday, she is currently in fair condition.

According to deRutte, the driver was not cited despite not speeding or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

According to CHP, the collision was reported at 7:56 p.m. on Hatchery Road in front of 5736 Old Redwood Highway.

The two pedestrians were crossing Hatchery Road when they were hit by the car.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a person was struck by a car, leaving one person dead and another seriously hurt in Penngrove on Sunday night, October 9, 2022.

Officers arrived and immediately discovered the two victims—a male and a female.

According to the CHP, a Hyundai carrying two occupants was moving north on Old Redwood Highway.

Previous reports misidentified the brand of the involved vehicle. When they were struck, the two pedestrians were coming from the parking lot of a building across the street.

The man died at the scene after succumbing to his injuries. The female was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and admitted after suffering serious injuries.

The CHP confirmed to the local news that the Hyundai’s occupants were unharmed and that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A CHP representative told local news that the pedestrians crossed the road in the dark with no lighting and no crosswalk. The crash remains under investigation.

Although the CHP has confirmed that both crash victims were from Sebastopol, their identities have not yet been disclosed.

The deceased man was 73 years old. The injured woman is a 66-year-old.
