According to the local news, a 43-year-old Temecula resident died after he crashed his motorcycle in Temecula on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
The accident happened at 10:18 a.m. on the Temecula Parkway onramp to northbound Interstate 15. According to the local news, the driver hit the break just before the crash.
The CHP’s Temecula Area office issued a request late on Thursday night for a white SUV or pickup truck driver who was present at the scene of the collision to come forward.
According to the CHP, they described the driver as “a potential witness.”
When Nicholas A. crashed at around 10:18 on Tuesday morning, he was driving a 1998 BMW R1200C.
The CHP reported that despite efforts to revive him, he was declared dead at the medical center a short while later.
The CHP found that Almendarez was entering the northbound I-15 at a speed greater than 45 mph while in the HOV lane of the Temecula Parkway onramp when, for as-yet-undetermined reasons, he applied the brakes, causing the BMW to skid.
Almendarez was thrown off the motorcycle and onto the asphalt. Eventually, he collided with the steel guard rail of the onramp.
The CHP Temecula Area office is still looking into the collision.
