Single-Vehicle Crash Statistics

In California, a shockingly high number of people are hurt or killed in single-car accidents. If only one car is involved in the accident, only that car will get damaged. Two possible triggers are leaving the road or hitting a stationary object. These accidents are caused by drunk drivers, tired drivers, drivers who can’t see well, and bad weather.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says that accidents with just one car cause 62% of traffic deaths in California. Drivers in California should always be aware of the road and their surroundings.

A lot of different things can cause a single-car crash. When the roads are wet, accidents and runaways are more likely to happen, especially when people try to make sharp turns. On the side of the road, things like truck cargo and downed trees or branches can be dangerous.

Another driver’s carelessness may have caused a single-car accident, but your insurance policy may make it hard to get paid.
