According to the California Highway Patrol, one person was killed in a two-vehicle head-on wrong-way crash on Interstate 15 near Stateline Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022.
As per CHP, the crash transpired approximately at 7:45 a.m. on Interstate 15 between Bailey Road and Nipton Road.
The California Highway Patrol says that a white Toyota Camry sedan was going the wrong way on I-15 between Bailey Road and Nipton Road. It was going north in the southbound lanes. Then it hit a white pickup truck straight on and damaged another car.
When the San Bernardino County Fire Department got there, they asked for a medical helicopter to take one of the two people who were hurt to the hospital.
Even though firefighters and CHP officials tried to save the wrong-way driver’s life, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the pickup was taken to University Medical Center Las Vegas by Mercy Air #7. His condition is not known. No harm came to the other driver.
The California Highway Patrol office in Barstow is still looking into this accident.
