Fatal Pedestrian Accident Statistics

It is almost impossible to prevent pedestrian fatalities after a car collision. Pedestrians have no protection in a crash between two cars and are, therefore, at high risk for serious injury.

Injuries and fatalities to pedestrians on American roads have reportedly risen in recent years. Historically, pedestrians have faced the greatest risk of being injured or killed in a car accident.

According to the data from the Governors Highway Safety Association, While overall traffic fatalities decreased by 14% between 2007 and 2016, there was a 27% increase among young adults.

There were 5,907 people killed while crossing the streets in the United States last year. Recent statistics show that 88 people lose their lives in accidents every minute.
There were also 137,000 pedestrians injured severely enough to require a trip to the emergency room in 2017.

Recent research indicates an all-time high in pedestrian accidents and fatalities in California.

More than 14,000 pedestrians were injured, and 893 were killed in accidents in 2018 throughout the state of California.

Distracted or careless drivers are a major cause of accidents involving pedestrians. If you want your legal options to be more favorable, you should hire an attorney.

In the aftermath of a car accident, saving the lives of pedestrians is next to impossible.

The majority of pedestrians who are injured or killed in collisions with vehicles do so because drivers were careless or distracted. You should retain legal representation if you hope to increase your chances of success in court.
