[11-02-2022] 72-Year-Old Pedestrian Man Dead After Being Struck by Vehicle in Elk GroveAccording to the Elk Grove Police Department, a 72-year-old man died after being hit by a car in Elk Grove Wednesday morning, November 2, 2022.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the crash transpired around 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Canyon View Drive and Hampton Oak Drive.

Police say a 72-year-old man dressed in all black was crossing Hampton Oak Drive when he was struck by a westbound Nissan Altima.

Due to his wounds, the man passed away.

Investigators say speed does not appear to be a factor and that the driver did not show any signs of impairment but remained at the scene and is cooperating with them.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined.
