[11-06-2022] San Bernardino County, CA - Two Hospitalized, One Critical, After Head-On Collision in VictorvilleThe Victorville City Fire Department reported two people getting hospitalized following a two-vehicle head-on collision in Victorville on Sunday evening, November 6, 2022.

According to the local firefighters, officers were dispatched to the crash at 9:55 p.m. on Amargosa Road, south of La Mesa Road, outside the AAA shopping center.

The collision involved a male driving a red 2014 Volkswagen Jetta sedan and a female driving a blue Hyundai Accent colliding head-on. Witnesses said the red sedan ran into oncoming traffic and collided directly with the other car.

The 24-year-old woman was extricated by the officers after getting trapped in the vehicle. She was brought to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance.

The 26-year-old man was airlifted to a trauma center after sustaining critical injuries. The firefighters had a tough time securing an airship due to the weather condition at the time of the collision.

It was reported that the male driver was passing in and out of consciousness and might have been drunk.

Amargosa Road was closed in both directions as the local authorities conducted the investigation.
