The local authorities of Orange County reported that one man was killed in a hit-and-run collision in Garden Grove on early Sunday morning, November 6, 2022.
According to the police, the crash involving an alleged DUI driver that left one man dead occurred before 2:00 a.m. in the 12000 block of Brookhurst Street.
A 26-year-old Brea resident, identified by the police as Alexis L., was driving a white Toyota Tacoma when he hit a 53-year-old homeless man and left the scene without stopping or providing assistance.
The identity of the victim was not mentioned.
The authorities said an officer patrolling the area was able to locate the suspect. The driver was detained on suspicion of felony DUI hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter, and for showing symptoms of intoxication.
The police requested anybody who may have seen the collision to contact them.
Further investigation is being conducted.
