A man was bitten by a K-9 after being allegedly mistaken for a suspect in a lengthy police chase in Downey on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the dog bite attack occurred at a Downey strip mall near Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard.
The man was wearing a baseball cap as he was leaving a liquor store when the K-9 bit him. Witnesses claimed the man, identified as Angel, who frequents the store, was unrelated to the police pursuit.
He was then handcuffed while lying on the ground, where he reportedly tried to tell the officers that it was not him that they were looking for.
The man eventually received treatment for his injuries. The California Highway Patrol did not release further updates on this case.
