Authorities said two people were killed in a solo car crash in Hesperia on Tuesday afternoon, December 13, 2022.
According to the Hesperia Police Department, the fatal crash occurred at 3:35 p.m. on the 7500 block of Arrowhead Lake Road.
The crash involved a gold 2002 Buick Century that went off the road for reasons under investigation at an unknown speed, causing it to hit a tree and become wedged against it.
Responders from the Hesperia police and San Bernardino County Fire closed the road to extricate the driver from the wreckage. They also had to use specialized tools to access the car’s interior to extricate the passenger.
Both occupants, identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as Pedro P., 24, of Apple Valley and Ruben M., 27, of Hesperia, were declared dead at the site.
The Hesperia Police Department is looking into the crash’s official cause.
