According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, one person died at the scene, and another suffered critical injuries in a two-vehicle car crash on State Route 138 on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
According to authorities, the accident occurred at 4:54 p.m. on August 24, 2022, on State Route 138, about two miles north of the I-15 freeway, near Lone Pine Canyon Road.
An Oldsmobile and a truck collided, causing the car to flip over, trapping the occupant inside. A white Ford Fiesta crashed with a Honda Accord.
When San Bernardino County Fire arrived on the scene, one person had been pronounced dead, and another had critical injuries. At least two ground ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The fire department stated that they would return later to finish the extrication. The California Highway Patrol requested that SR 138 be closed at the I-15 freeway, and westbound traffic is being detoured. Hess Road meets Lone Pine Canyon Road.
The San Bernardino County Coroner has been called to the scene. This is a developing story, and more details will be added as they become available.
