[09-13-2022] Los Angeles County, CA – A Metrolink Train Struck and Killed a Pedestrian in the Van Nuys Area

A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian in the Van Nuys area on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

Paramedics responded around 5:45 a.m. in the 7900 block of North Orion Avenue.

According to Metrolink’s Scott Johnson, the person was hit by Metrolink train 100 eastbound on the Ventura County Line in a “non-pedestrian” area between the Northridge and Van Nuys stations.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the person died at the scene.

The identity of the fatally injured person was not immediately revealed.

According to Johnson, all rail traffic in the area has been halted, and delays are expected.

The circumstances surrounding the death were being investigated.
