According to the California Highway Patrol, a 19-year-old Solvang man died, and three other passengers were injured after crashing his car into a fence and tree in Solvang late Monday night, September 12, 2022.
The crash occurred at about 10:15 p.m. northbound on Ballard Canyon Road.
The CHP says that Roberto G. Jr. was driving when he failed to make a turn into the road, causing his car to go off the road to the east.
The CHP said that the car hit a fence and a tree and flipped over onto its roof. Garcia Jr. and the other three people in the car were stuck and had to be freed.
Garcia Jr. was taken to the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital, but his injuries killed him there.
The CHP said the three other people in the car had severe injuries.
It didn’t look like alcohol or drugs had anything to do with the crash. The cause of the crash is still being looked into.
