Multi-Vehicle Crash Statistics

Accidents involving multiple vehicles often happen when many cars are going fast and close to each other. This makes it hard for many drivers near an accident to stop safely, which could cause them to crash into other cars.

A recent study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that more than 40% of all car accidents involved more than two vehicles and killed more than 13,000 people.

Even though it’s impossible to avoid accidents with more than one car, some steps can be taken to lower the risk. For instance, drivers can avoid following too closely and leave a lot of space between themselves and the car. Also, drivers should be aware of what’s happening around them and be ready to stop quickly if necessary.

By taking these steps, drivers can reduce their chances of being in a crash with more than one car.
