[09-22-2022] San Diego County, CA - Fatal Pedestrian Crash Leaves One Female Died on Interstate 8 Near Old TownA woman died after a pedestrian accident involving a car on Interstate 8 near Old Town on Thursday morning, September 22, 2022.

The mishap happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Presidio Park bridge overpass in the eastbound freeway lanes.

According to officials, the woman passed away before being taken to a hospital. The driver, a 24-year-old man, remained at the scene and spoke with police.

The vehicle involved was a silver Subaru SUV.

According to CHP Officer Jesse Matias, there was no indication that the man was intoxicated or using drugs.

Toxicology tests carried out by the county medical examiner’s office will reveal whether the woman had consumed alcohol or drugs.
