A 55-year-old motorcyclist was killed following a collision with a pickup truck in Menifee on Saturday afternoon, January 28, 2023.
According to the Menifee Police Department, the fatal crash occurred at 4:17 p.m. at the Bundy Canyon Road and Wright Road intersection.
The rider, identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office as Canon S., 55, of Menifee, was reportedly traveling west on Bundy Canyon Road in his Harley-Davidson motorcycle along with a Ford pickup.
The motorcycle rider smashed into the driver’s side of the pickup after he tried to pass the slowing traffic on the other side of the road right when the pickup slowed to turn left.
Responders from the police, Riverside County Fire Department, and American Medical Response tried to save the motorcyclist, who sustained major injuries but was declared dead at the site.
The pickup driver stayed at the scene and assisted the authorities. Initial investigation revealed that alcohol or drugs did not play a role in the collision.
