An 84-year-old man died after a pedestrian collision in Alameda on Tuesday morning, February 7, 2023.
Reports confirmed that the deadly crash transpired around 7:30 a.m. at Bay Farm Island.
According to authorities, the man crossed an unmarked intersection at Marcuse Street when he was struck by a Chrysler Town & Country minivan traveling down Mecartney Road.
Officers arrived to find the Pedestrian in critical condition and provided care until firefighters and paramedics arrived.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and later pronounced dead.
There was no indication of the man’s identity Tuesday night.
The Chrysler’s driver, a 63-year-old Alameda resident, remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators.
According to police, neither alcohol nor drugs were believed to be factors in the crash.
