[02-11-2023] Female Cyclist Severely Injured Following Bicycle Crash in OaklandA female cyclist, identified as Ellie M., suffered injuries after a bicycle crash in Oakland on Saturday night, February 11, 2023.

According to reports, the collision occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Shafter Avenue and Forest Street.

The victim stated that a gray sedan struck her and slowed down as a passenger on the passenger side opened the door and collided with her bike.

The occupants were allegedly laughing as they drove away from the scene.

As a result, the cyclist collapsed to the ground. She sustained eight stitches and a big wound on her forehead.

Although the victim called authorities, she allegedly refused to open a case for her and instead asked to call back later.

Around that time, other bikers said they were also being targeted in the Rockridge and Shafter neighborhoods.

Most cyclists were on their way to the EB Bike Party at the Rockridge BART station.
