According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash happened around 9:15 p.m. between Panama Lane and Ashe Road.

The victim was driving a motorcycle westbound on Panama Lane when a pickup truck struck him.

The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The authorities speculate that alcohol and speed might be the cause but are still investigating further.
