[04-24-2023] Male Pedestrian Killed After Train Accident in ClairemontOne male pedestrian was killed after a train accident in Clairemont, San Diego, on Monday afternoon, April 24, 2023.

According to Sgt. Jason King of San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the southbound Amtrak passenger train, struck the pedestrian around 12:45 p.m. near Santa Fe St. and Balboa Ave intersection.

The man died before being transported to a hospital. The pedestrian’s name was withheld pending next of kin notification.

The Sheriff’s Department’s Transit Enforcement Unit is responsible for investigating incidents involving trains in San Diego County.

The authorities are still investigating the accident.
