A female juvenile died, and three individuals were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Bakersfield on Friday afternoon, May 12, 2023.
The Bakersfield Police Department said the incident occurred at 4:19 p.m. at McCutchen Road and Mountain Ridge Drive.
According to the report, the collision occurred when the driver of the other vehicle, traveling westbound on McCutchen Road, failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
Following the incident, one female juvenile lost her life despite responders’ lifesaving efforts. Tragically, she was pronounced dead. A woman and a male youth from the same car were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle involved had minor injuries but declined medical assistance. She remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Factors such as alcohol, drugs, and speed do not appear to be involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
