[06-10-2023] Santa Barbara County, CA – Male Motorcyclist Suffered Severe Injuries Following Motorcycle Vs. Vehicle Crash Near Carpinteria

A male motorcyclist in his mid-30s suffered severe injuries after colliding with a vehicle near Carpinteria on Saturday afternoon, June 10, 2023.

The Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, and Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, as well as an American Medical Response ambulance crew, were dispatched to the crash scene in the 5600 block of Casitas Pass Road near Foothill Road shortly after 4:00 p.m.

Authorities stated that firefighters saw a motorcycle driver lying on the road when they came. Officials said the adult male was transported by ground ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of severe head injuries.

No further details were revealed about what caused the crash, and it was unclear whether the vehicle’s driver remained on the scene or fled.

The incident was being investigated by CHP officers from the Santa Barbara area, and anyone with information is highly encouraged to call the authorities immediately.
